RA Position: Population Studies

Opportunity Description:


The RA will work with me on my research projects. I will provide mentoring and guided work. The main project will be about digitizing and analyzing African census data, with an eye towards understanding population health.

Primary Responsibilities: 

The RA will learn to locate, digitize, and analyze hard-to-access census data. They will also perform literature reviews.

Minimum Qualifications and/or Eligibility Requirements: 

You should have a strong interest in population studies, demography, and/or global development. You should be interested in using quantitative data, though you do not need to already know how to do this. I will guide you in using spreadsheets for data entry and R for data analysis.


Preferred Skills: 

Excellent reading and writing skills.
Basic familiarity (or willingness to learn) with spreadsheets and R.

Knowledge or skills gained from the experience: 

Locating, digitizing, and analyzing global health and population data.
Research design.
Literature reviews.
