Applying for undergraduate research grants and national fellowships opportunities is a fundamentally educational endeavor. The application process is designed to help you develop as a researcher, a scholar, and a leader. Its subject, therefore, is you.
Engaging in the application process fosters your growth by prompting you to:
- Organize and synthesize complex information for readers outside your field
- Marshal different narratives, bodies of knowledge, and information to make a persuasive case for an opportunity
- Hone your own authentic voice and demonstrate your knowledge of scholarly citational practices
- Undertake intensive self-reflection about your academic and research interests; your motivations, experiences, and values; as well as your future trajectory
Because generative artificial intelligence technologies – including Claude, ChatGPT, Dall-E, Grammarly, and Phoenix AI – impede the independent pursuit of these core learning goals, submitting materials prepared with the aid of generative AI tools in CCRF’s undergraduate research and national fellowships applications is prohibited.
