Media Aesthetics Student Workshop Research Assistant

Opportunity Description:


The research assistant will provide support in developing and running a one-quarter workshop for first and second year students.

Primary Responsibilities: 

The research assistant will provide support in developing and running a one-quarter workshop for first and second year students. The workshop, supported by a grant from the Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression, will give students an opportunity to use their education in the Media Aesthetics Humanities Core to frame and comment on issues of contemporary social importance. Participants will develop a topic and analytic frame, identify an audience, and produce a draft of a public-facing piece of writing or video essay. In addition to assisting with the development of this workshop, the research assistant will also help the faculty member with other ongoing research projects in literary history and the environmental humanities.

Minimum Qualifications and/or Eligibility Requirements: 

Qualifications and eligibility:
The student should be enrolled in or have completed the Media Aesthetics core sequence.
Experience with student organizations and successfully publicizing and running student events is desirable.
Preference will be given to students majoring in the Humanities.


Preferred Skills: 

Open to any undergraduate
