San Francisco Jazz Organization (SFJAZZ) Summer Intern Program

The San Francisco Jazz Organization (SFJAZZ) summer intern program offers a direct experience working in the West Coast’s preeminent stand-alone Jazz Center in the US. If you are a college student interested in learning more about how a performing arts non-profit organization works or are considering a job in the future at SFJAZZ. SFJAZZ’s internship program seeks talented students of all backgrounds—we value diversity of cultures, races and ethnicities, gender expressions, and abilities. Students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the arts are encouraged to apply.

The objective of the SFJAZZ Student Internship Program is to provide students with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education in the arts.  The SFJAZZ Student Internship Program is offered to full-time and part- students. Interested students may apply for an internship to be developed by each department to meet the intern’s educational goals. Through behind the scenes, hands-on experience, SFJAZZ’s student internships enrich the academic and professional lives of its interns.  

Interns are with us for 9 weeks. Interns attend a welcome breakfast with senior leadership, weekly social outings and lunch and learns with several departments. Interns check in weekly with their supervisors and also mid internship review with HR. At the end of the summer internship, interns will give a final presentation.  Part of the value of the intern program is group activities and getting to know not only the institution but each other.
