Research Assistant – Anup Malani and Dorian Abbot

Opportunity Description:


Anup Malani, Lee and Brena Freeman Professor, University of Chicago Law School and Medical School, and Dorian Abbot, Associate Professor, Department of Geophysical Sciences, University of Chicago are seeking to hire a part-time Research Assistant to work on research projects related to population growth and demography.  More specifically, the Research Assistant will conduct empirical and theoretical work on the long-term determinants of fertility rates and population growth in developed and developing countries, as well as the impact of policy interventions to slow or reverse fertility decline.  Previous RA’s who have worked with Professor Malani and Abbot have gone on to PhD programs at Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and the University of Chicago.

Minimum Qualifications and/or Eligibility Requirements: 

Applicants must have strong quantitative and programming skills. Candidates with research experience are strongly preferred, especially those with experience in Stata, R, or Python. The ideal candidate would begin by February 1, 2023.
