Mann Award Travel Grant

This grant sponsors several competitive fellowship programs for BA essay writers.

The Department of History sponsors several competitive fellowship programs for BA essay writers. The Montag, Sack, and Glenn Swogger Fellowships fund travel within the United States and abroad, and the Mann Travel Grant supports travel to US archives. Typical awards range from $200 to $500. To apply, please email the following documents, preferably in a single PDF, to the undergraduate program coordinator. More information can be found here. 

Application Process: 

The deadline is generally in mid-May:

  • A 2– 3-page proposal detailing (a) the project you propose to undertake; (b) the archive(s) you intend to visit; and (c) the materials you hope to consult in order to advance your project.
  • A detailed budget.
  • A copy of your most recent transcript.
  • Your resume or curriculum vitae (c.v.).
  • A list of completed and planned coursework relevant to your history major and your project.
