Institute for Biophysical Dynamics Scholar Program

Opportunity Description:


The Institute for Biophysical Dynamics will be able to partially fund a limited number of undergraduates with stipends of $2,500 to undergraduate students in the College who have research projects in IBD labs during the summer.

Individual faculty will mentor the scholar group during the summer and provide an additional $2,500 in support. Faculty mentors will provide feedback during student research talks, stimulate discussion in the group, and serve in a general mentoring role.

Primary Responsibilities: 

IBD scholars are expected to conduct full-time (40 hours/week) research during the 10-week summer program and actively participate in weekly meetings.

Minimum Qualifications and/or Eligibility Requirements: 

The IBD scholars program is open to current students in the College.

Application Process: 

Potential IBD Scholars are required to prepare:

  • A 2-page research proposal
  • A statement of career goals,
  • A copy of your transcript
  • Obtain a letter of support from an IBD Faculty member, addressing the mentoring plan
