Davis Projects for Peace Recipients Announced

Congratulations to Sara Siddiqui (Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies, 2021) and Anvita Ramachandran (Economics, Statistics, 2021), who have been named Davis Projects for Peace recipients. The Davis Projects for Peace fellowship provides up to $10,000 in funding for students to complete individual or collective grassroots projects that focus on conflict resolution, reconciliation, breaking down barriers, and maintaining peace. Learn more about how CCRF supports Davis candidates here

Sara’s project, “A Greener Village: Combating Environmental Injustice Through Urban Farming,” mitigates environmental inequities and food insecurity in Little Village, Chicago. Working with the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVIJO), Sara will transform a small community garden into a sustainable urban farm. 

Anvita’s project, “e-KALVI: An Equal Footing Through Computer Education,” which was deferred to this year due to the pandemic, addresses economic and educational disparities in Chennai, India. Partnering with multiple educational institutions, Anvita will create a computer center and digital learning program for the Anjugam Primary School.
