Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the host country’s cultures and languages
  • Diversity
Research Award: Creative and Performing Arts Research Award
  • Focused interest in the host country, including its language(s)
  • Compelling rationale to conduct research in the host country
  • Research experience and preparation
  • Independent research project feasibility
  • Focused interest in the host country
  • Compelling rationale to advance artistic/creative practice through an independent research project in the host country
  • Creative/artistic experience and preparation
  • Independent creative/artistic project feasibility

 Candidates for the Fulbright Research Award and Creative and Performing Arts Research Award can affirm the following statements:

  • I can explain how completing my project in the host country specifically makes sense for my long-term interests and goals.
  • I can articulate ways that I wish to actively engage with and learn from my host country community.
  • I can describe how I am prepared (including linguistically) to succeed in my project in the host country. (Students are strongly encouraged to explore and utilize language study resources in preparation for (and/or in addition to) their application for the Fulbright US Student Program.)
