Diversity Action Plan for Penn Genomics at the University of Pennsylvania (DAPPG)
Opportunity Description:
The goal of the program is to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups in genome sciences and genomic medicine careers by providing opportunity for hands-on genomics research.
Areas of study include:
- Complex disease mapping, human genetic variation
- Genome-scale functional analysis of RNA, protein, and pathways
- Biophysical models of molecules
- Design of experimental systems using microfluidics & nano-fabrication
- Computational algorithms for genome-scale data
- Software engineering of analysis systems
- System-level modeling of cell processes &organismal development
- Evolutionary dynamics
Summer Program: 10 weeks
Post-bac Program: 1-2 years

- One statement detailing both your career goals and your area of research interest (include that you are applying to the DAPPG program)
- 2 letters of recommendation from academic faculty or advisors
- Uploaded copy of your undergraduate transcript (official copy sent by mail)
