Application Process:
Before you begin your application, please carefully review the Sussex Research Projects listed here. You will need to write about your top-choice opportunity in your 500-word statement; if you are interested (and qualified) in more than one project, you may list up to two and write briefly about your 2nd choice.
You will submit your complete application materials ONLINE (do not reach out to Sussex faculty mentors). Your application will include the following:
- Current academic CV (two pages is preferable)
- 500-word (max) motivation statement, describing your interest in working on the research project you have selected, what specific skills and experience you bring to the project, and how this research experience will contribute to your broader academic and career goals.
- Name, title, and email of one faculty or other academic (research mentor) reference. Please ask your recommender if they are willing to serve as a reference before submitting your application. Please do not list career or academic advisors as references.
- Unofficial Transcript (please download a PDF and do not submit a screenshot)
Review Process: This is a selective review process. Candidates will be selected based on fit for the opportunity and the quality of their application materials. Candidate files will be forwarded to the Sussex faculty, who will make the ultimate selection decisions. All applicants will be notified by CCRF of the outcome of their application.
Please do not submit any materials to, or otherwise make contact with, the Sussex faculty research mentors. You will be notified if an interview with a project mentor is requested.
If you have any questions or difficulties uploading your application materials, please contact the CCRF Research Team.
