National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program

Funds up to three years of graduate tuition in the sciences.

Funded by the Department of Defense, NDSEG Fellowships encourage study and research leading to doctoral degrees in mathematical, physical, biological, ocean and engineering sciences. The Fellowship pays for tuition and fees and provides a stipend of approximately $31,000 for three years. Summer employment is included.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Fourth-year undergraduate students and first-year graduate students who are US citizens or nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who indicate an intention to pursue a doctoral degree in, or closely related to an approved specialty field
