The Berlin House of Representatives Scholarship supports one year of independent research in Berlin on a topic related to Germany or Berlin. Graduate students receive €1,100 per month and post-doctoral scholars receive €1,630 per month plus travel costs and free lodging (obligatory for all scholars) at the Internationales Studienzentrum Berlin (to find housing, use the following website:

Eligibility Requirements

Fourth-year students, or holders of a bachelors degree who are under the age of 26 may apply. Affiliation with a German institution of higher education is required, as is nomination by the University of Chicago.
