The American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships and Grants for Study in Scandinavia

Funds research and study in Scandinavia for college graduates.

The American-Scandinavian Foundation provides 1-3 month summer research grants (up to $5,000) for projects in Scandanavia and fellowships (up to $23,000) for year-long academic study.

Eligibility Requirements

College seniors, graduate students, artists and professionals who hold US citizenship are eligible to apply. Some language proficiency is desirable.

The ASF Web site also serves as a gateway to sources of funding for study abroad experiences in Scandinavia.

Applicants must have a well-defined research or study project that makes a stay in Scandinavia essential.

Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents.

Applicants must have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in Scandinavia.

Team projects are eligible, but each member must apply as an individual, submitting a separate, fully-documented application.

First priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received an ASF award. Only in exceptional cases will a third award be considered.
