ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship

Awards $5,000, renewable annually, to members of underrepresented racial/ethnic minority groups attending ABA accredited law schools.

The American Bar Association (ABA) Legal Opportunity Scholarship grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial aid over the course of their three years in law school ($5,000 annually)

Eligibility Requirements

Members of underrepresented racial/ethnic minority groups who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5 are eligible to apply. The scholarship can only be used at an ABA-accredited law school. Financial need, personal background and community service experience are taken into account. Applicants must be entering their first year of law school during the academic year following the application cycle.
